Michael Maziarz is a seasoned operations executive, retired U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander, and certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 26 years of leadership experience spanning military service, manufacturing, and technology-driven operations.
Drawing from his career in the Navy’s Aviation Electronics and Supply Corps, as well as senior roles in high-growth startups and advanced manufacturing, Michael brings a unique blend of discipline, innovation, and real-world business expertise. He served as the Director of Smart Manufacturing Innovation Centers at CESMII (UCLA), where he oversaw 14 university-led programs advancing Industry 4.0 adoption nationwide. His work has helped organizations reduce waste, improve efficiency, and leverage data-driven decision-making for long-term growth.
As the Founder of Smart Ops USA, Michael is committed to empowering small and medium-sized manufacturers across the U.S. to embrace Smart Manufacturing and operational excellence. His approach centers on guiding businesses through structured assessments, workforce development, and process improvements—helping them uncover opportunities, build resilience, and achieve measurable results without unnecessary complexity.
Michael holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Industrial Relations from the University of Phoenix, along with certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Scrum Master (CSM), and OSHA General Industry Safety.

Based in Wylie, Texas, David Corcio is a seasoned business development professional with over 7 years of experience in customer relationship management and more than a decade of leadership across operations, project management, and data management. Most recently serving as Membership Manager at CESMII – The Smart Manufacturing Institute, David collaborated with senior leadership and the U.S. Department of Energy to streamline membership processes, drive outreach initiatives, and sustain a retention rate of over 91%. With a proven ability to generate revenue growth, optimize workflows, and lead cross-functional teams, he has successfully managed multi-million-dollar accounts and large-scale process improvement initiatives. David holds an MBA in Business Development from Azusa Pacific University, a B.S. in Operations Management from Cal State Long Beach, and an A.S. in Materials Science from Don Bosco Technical Institute. He brings to SmartOpsUSA a strong track record of building relationships, improving organizational performance, and helping manufacturers realize measurable value.
